Kym Taylor Reid

Picture
Kym pursued her undergraduate studies as a Music History and Performance major at New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts and as an English Literature major at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh before coming to Concordia University to complete her Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics. She has spent many years as a second language educator in K-12 classrooms and at the university level in both the United States and Canada and has worked most recently in an administrative capacity for second language programs at both SUNY Plattsburgh and McGill University. As a PhD candidate under the supervision of Pavel Trofimovich, Kym’s dissertation research investigates social attitudes toward nonnative speakers and explores interventions that have the potential to mitigate negative biases. She is a proud mother of two who loves music, theatre, and who is most at home on the dance floor.
